Sand Farm is the culmination of many things. As a fifth generation farmer, I have always wanted to have my own farm. After graduating from OSU, I returned to the family farm and worked with my family. We changed from a dairy operation to a hay and beef farm.
When I got married in 2005, my wife Emma introduced me to the grass fed beef movement. My family was already raising grass fed beef, so with my wife's help we took the next step to Farmers Market. Four years of getting to know new people and finding out the things they are looking for lead us to diversifying on the farm. We added new products for ourselves and customers.
I created Sand Farm to achieve my dream of having my own farm, providing for my family, and gaining the ability to diversify even further. I now look forward to future farming adventures that would encompass everything that SAND farm stands for: Sustainable, Agricultural, Natural, Diversified.
